Shoot Be First

A while ago, I did a shoot for Be First A store located near Amsterdam. They sell beautiful gowns and dresses, and a wide variety of them. Every shoot is a challenge, but I've never done a shoot in these kind of fabrics and dresses; and it was fun! I'm not a princess dresses kind of girl( well, except for my wedding), but it was nice to play dress up and feel like a princess for a day...

What do you think of the results?

Flashback Friday: The Oscars 2014!

Every year I look forward to the Oscars. Not only to find out who actually won an Oscar, but ofcourse the red carpet fashion! In the Netherlands we don’t really have these big, glamorous events were celebs dress up to the max.
A huge trend on the carpet this year: a lot of fabric! More is not always more, but in some cases it worked out pretty good.  And in some cases…not so much. I really don’t get how some stylists don’t choose a suits the body of their client the right way.  I really thought some of the ladies were wearing the wrong color for their skin tone or just the wrong dress for their body type…

Favs:
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior. Simple, but beautiful!
Vogue Daily — Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture, Neil Lane jewelry, and Salvatore Ferragamo bag
Lupita Nyong’o in Prada. A fairy tale and the color of her dress is a nice contrast against her beautiful skin.
Vogue Daily — Lupita Nyong'o in Prada and Fred Leighton jewelry
Sandra Bullock in Alexander Mc Queen. This is most definately one of my favorite looks. Hair and make up or on point and the dress is tailored perfect for her body.
Vogue Daily — Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen
Naomi Watts in Calvin Klein Collection. She shows how a simple and clean look can be very glamorous. And the jewelry of Bulgari makes her outfit complete.

Meh..
Julia Roberts in Givenchy Couture.  I don’t know who her stylist is, but this woman has a fab body and then you let her wear this?! No. The peplum isn’t for everybody.
Elsa Pataki in Ellie Saab. I won’t bash on a pregnant lady, but this dress just doesn’t fit her the right way. They should have altered the dress or just pick a whole different dress for her. At least her hair and make up look good and Chris looks good for the both of them.

Store opening Samsoe & Samsoe

Last Thursday I was invited to the store opening of Samsoe&Samsoe in Amsterdam. I went there with my friend Hajar, to see what this Danish label had to offer.

The store looks incredible! At the entrance we were welcomed with champagne. They also had danish drinks and appetizers. I really like the basic but still stylish style of the brand. See for yourself!

The Samsoe&Samsoe store is located at the Utrechtsestraat 34 in Amsterdam.

Selfies

The other day I was deleting some pictures from my phone and the more I browsed, the more selfies I found! And not just random selfies. A lot of selfies send to my fashion partner Çetin, to ask: what do you think of this outfit or look? I also do this in the dressing rooms in stores. I chose my favorite summer selfies, because I really do miss the summer already...And I'm not quite ready for winter. Yet.

Are you checking your outfit with your friends before you leave the house?

Dulce Elisa's perfect coat

Every year I have the same problem; I can't seem to find the perfect coat. for autumn/winter that is. Summer jackets are never a problem, but in the winter I like to stay warm and still look fabulous. why the hell is it so difficult for me to find the perfect coat???

Ok maaaaaybe my demands are a bit crazy( warm, elegant, cozy, waterproof, not too expensive, preferably in black or grey AND with a hoody) but still!

Anyways I always like to watch fashionshows, so I checked out the shows of fall/winter 13/14 and got some inspiration. I chose the looks I like the most. Which winter look  is your favorite?

Fabulous Fur
This is one of the area's in life where you can fake it without harming yourself: Fur! I love this look, especially combined with the overknee boots( high streetwalker factor, but hey, we all need a bit of sexy in our lives), another huge trend this season. I really love the pink coat by Emilio Pucci. Sweet color and oh so fabulous!
Emilio Pucci

Elegance
This to me  is true elegance; I love grey coats, especially with these heavy fabrics. The styling is great!
Dolce & Gabbana

Trench
I do love the trenchcoat( I have 4 of them in my closet!) But these aren't that warm for the winter. I mostly wear them during the fall.
Chanel
Oversized
Literally a huge trend this season: oversized coats! I really like this trend, but I think it's important to balance out the rest of the outfit. So oversized coat, with skinny jeans and heels. Sigh...I could survive the winter like this!
Armani

I will keep you posted on my search for the perfect coat! And let me know which coat you bought for the winter :)
