'Shapes and Shades' Specsavers

I was invited to the Shapes and Shades workshop by Specsavers. I was really excited for this day, because it was also the launch of a new and exclusive line of glasses, designed by a famous designer! I was intrigued...

I arrived at Studio 13 with my dear friend Çetin form I AM Mode. The space was divided in different sections, every section containing a different theme and color for glasses. It looked gorgeous! We also got some vitamin shots, with just the right vitamins for your eyes. After trying  on the different frames and styles, we went upstairs for the workshop.

Workshop Shades and Shapes
Designer Jorgen Simonsen told us about the Osiris collection, which he designed exclusively for Specsavers. Simonsen is a well-known designers who has designed for Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker!
‘Dare to be different’ is the motto of this collection. It’s a commercial line for a broad audience. Goal of Simonsen was to make Osiris a desirable brand again. We think he succeeded just perfectly! He thought it was challenging to design an entire collection of glasses, because this was his first time. But this is exactly why Specsavers wanted him to design this collection: they wanted his view on fashion transferred on to the glasses. Not only did he want to make the look of the glasses unique, but also the texture. Folkloric Fetish is the theme he used as inspiration. In this fetish means ‘an extreme amount of attention to details’.

Osiris is an in-house brand of Specsavers, exclusively sold at Specsavers. Simonsen designed 60 pieces for Specsavers, and 12 of those are the Fresh pieces. His favorite? The ‘glasses in glasses’ specs. Next year he will design another line for Osiris. Simonson is a busy man. He’s currently busy with his new clothing line, luxury handbags with an atelier in Italy and fur coats in Istanbul. And next year he has another first: he will launch a new fragrance for men!

After this, make-up artist Saray Verlinden continued the workshop with make overs and useful make up tips for ladies wearing glasses. My favorite tip:  Eyebrows are a must when you wear glasses, so when you’re choosing a frame, make sure your brows are visible.

I really enjoyed this day, and I’m ready to choose a new set of glasses, designed for Osiris!
